Here you will learn how a Hip-Hop dancer is made, what is Hip-Hop dance, how the combinations break down, how a combination is built, and how all the elements are collected and connected to create the most interesting outcome- a professional Hip-Hop dance!

If you like Hip-Hop you have probably noticed that behind every rapper or singer there is a group of professional dancers that have practiced and perfected how to dance to the specific groove of that rapper.

You have probably asked yourself, how did they get there?

How are they performing so tight together, in such perfect timing?

How do they know when to jump? When do get down on the ground? When to freeze a pose?

And you ask yourself how? I want too!!!

Don't worry. That's why I am here.

I am gonna answer all of these questions. I'll explain how it all really works. I'll take you behind the scenes into the Hip-Hop industry, phase by phase until you get it.

You'll expand your knowledge of Hip-Hop through the hip hop academy, the school of dance.

So how does it happen?

First the rapper (or singer) records the song (good start, don't you think?) then he decides (along with the director) what the video clip will look like- what form, how many dancers, extras, and what set design.

Then he explains the concept to the Hip-Hop choreographer, and brings them in to the atmosphere and ambience of the set. The choreographer listens to the beat, the words, and most importantly imagines the mood and vibe, which the clip portrays. The wheels start rolling in their fruitful mind and they begin to create specific movements, materializing what will eventually be the basis for the dance.

Don't underestimate or confuse this part of the process- now the hard work begins. The partnering of the mind, the beat, style, and transferance to the specific body movements will reflect and represent the message of the clip. The same message that the rapper presents in the lyrics, must be mirrored by the dancers.

From here you will continue on to the series of articles, that will explain how this all works, step by step.
